Smoked BBQ Elkins, WV

If you head south out the 5-lane (US-219 S/US-250 S) on Fridays (sometimes Saturdays), you’ll come upon one of my favorite local BBQ spots for a to-go lunch. This Texan-style BBQ checks all the boxes in my book.

Texan BBQ that checks all the boxes on a Friday afternoon.

How to get there

From Elkins, Smoked BBQ just a five minutes minutes south on 219/250 S. If you’ve passed Walmart, you’ve gone too far and need to turn around.

Physical Address: 536 Beverly Pike, Elkins, WV, USA

What to expect

You’ll see their flag waving, and be warned. This is a drive-thru estabslihment only. More often than not, there’s a bit of line, but don’t worry, it moves quick. There are some paper menus you can grab from your car window and peruse before its your turn, or you can view their menu here.

What we ate

I’m a big fan of the brisket. If I’m not feeling carbs, you’ll serve it to go containers in different sizes. Owen will order the pork bbq sandwich, topped with coleslaw, and I’ll always ask for a bite.

The smoked chicken looks fantastic if you’re looking for something a bit lighter. Local favorites included the loaded baked potatoes, nachos, and when available smoked shrimp or burnt pork ends. Take advantage of the sampler, family or party pack and get everything you need for a delicious meal. Sides are available including mac and cheese, smoked baked beans, potato and macaroni salad.

We typically aren’t “dessert in the middle of the day” people, but they do have some fun options on the menu if you’re wanting something sweet. Desserts are rotating and but we’ve seen options like peanut butter pie, dirt cake, and seasonal favorites in the mix.
